What It Means to Be Voted Best Florist in Westchester

The Flower Bar team in Larchmont NY — voted best florist in Westchester

  • The Flower Bar has been voted Best Florist in Westchester by readers of Westchester Magazine in 2026.
  • This is a readers' choice honor — chosen by the community of Westchester County, not an industry panel.
  • Owner Nancy White reflects on what it means to earn recognition one arrangement, one conversation, one delivery at a time.
  • This recognition joins three other 2026 honors: Best of Tri-County, Daily Voice Readers' Choice, and Best Florist in New Rochelle.
  • Bottom line: Nothing changes — the same care that earned this continues every day at 11 Addison Street in Larchmont.

A note from Nancy White, owner of The Flower Bar

There are mornings in this business I will never forget, and most of them have nothing to do with awards. They are the ones where a bride sees her bouquet for the first time, or where someone calls because flowers arrived for someone they could not be with, and the arrangement said what they could not find words for. That is the work. That is what I think about when I open the studio each day.

So when I learned that the readers of Westchester Magazine had voted The Flower Bar the best florist in Westchester, what struck me first was not the title. It was who had chosen it.

A reader's vote is a client's vote

This was not a panel of judges or an industry committee weighing technique. It was the community — the people of Westchester who walk through our door, who call from across the county, who trust us with the moments that matter most to them. They did not vote for a logo or a marketing campaign. They voted because of an experience they had: a flower that arrived exactly as they hoped, a celebration we got to be a small part of, a hard day we helped carry.

That distinction means everything to me. You cannot market your way into a reader's choice award. You earn it one arrangement, one conversation, one delivery at a time.

This belongs to the people who trusted us

When I think about who this award really belongs to, I think about specific people. The bride who came in with an inspiration board and a budget she was nervous to name, and left feeling like her vision was understood. The man who calls every year on the same date, because flowers are how he stays close to someone he lost. The regulars who no longer need to explain what they like, because by now we already know.

Every one of those relationships is the reason this happened. I get to do the arranging, but they are the ones who built this — by trusting us, by coming back, by telling a friend.

So this is not really my award. It is theirs, and I am grateful in a way that is hard to fit into a single sentence.

A year of being seen

The truth is, this past year brought recognition from more than one corner of the region. Earlier in 2026 we were named Best of Tri-County, recognized in the Daily Voice Best of Westchester Readers' Choice, and voted Best Florist in New Rochelle through Community Votes. Different organizations, different communities, all pointing in the same direction.

What that consistency tells me is not that we are doing something flashy. It is that we are doing something steadily — showing up the same way for every order, whether it is a single stem or an entire wedding florals arrangement. But the Westchester Magazine award is the one I will keep closest, because it came from the readers, from the people themselves.

What changes now? Nothing — and that is the point

An award like this could be a finish line. I would rather treat it as a reason to keep doing the work exactly the way we always have. The next bride is already on the calendar. The next person who needs flowers to say something they cannot quite say is already on their way through the door. They will get the same care that earned this in the first place.

To everyone who voted, who trusted us, who let us be part of your celebrations and your hardest days — thank you. You are the reason The Flower Bar is what it is, and I cannot wait to keep showing up for you.
